The Story

Inspired by the poem “Yellow”  by Donna Ashworth in her “Growing Brave’ book, the Fellow Yellow collection is a tribute to the people who radiate light, warmth, and positivity into the world.

Donna’s poem “Yellow” touched my heart so deeply, it pulled a design straight from my soul. Her words reminded me of my first ever “fellow yellow” — my beautiful friend Clare, who passed away last year. 🌼  To me, a fellow yellow is someone who radiates warmth, love, and light into the world around them. Someone who makes life brighter just by being who they are. I’m so lucky to have a few precious fellow yellows in my own life, and this piece was created as a way to celebrate them.

The design came to me one day on a quiet hill in Kinross, where I sketched beams of light flowing outward – each ray representing the energy of a yellow soul, with a golden stone at the centre, symbolising the sunshine they bring. On the reverse, the words “fellow yellow” are inscribed in my own handwriting, keeping the message close to the heart.

This pendant is for gifting – a way to say thank you to your own fellow yellow, to let them know how much their light means to you – in the words of Donna Ashworth — “If you have a Fellow yellow – keep them bright.” 🌞
